Defenseman Kevin Klein isn't known on the Nashville Predators' roster as an "enforcer" or "fighter", but when the time comes to drop the mitts, Klein doesn't hold back. Before Monday night's match against the Dallas Stars, Klein entered the game with just 16 penalty minutes and two fights.no comments
The Nashville Predators (21-22-7) will play host to their division rival Dallas Stars (21-19-8) Monday night for the third of their five game regular season series.no comments
A three goal third period wasn't enough to make up for an early deep deficit and shaky goaltending as the Predators dropped a decision to the Colorado Avalanche in Devan Dubnyk's franchise start. Preds fans realized early why the Oilers were so willing to part ways with Dubnyk as he allowed three goals in six minutes to put the Preds well behind the eight ball in the first period. While those three were arguably not entirely his fault, goals four and five, scored while the Predators were staging their impressive comeback, most definitely were. Nashville did manage to put four goals past Varlamov and had some phenomenal third period pressure but it didn't do the trick and they added another notch to the L column.no comments
Newly acquired Devan Dubnyk will make his season debut tonight for the Predators (21-21-7) as they play host to division rival, the Colorado Avalanche (30-12-5) Saturday night at Bridgestone Arena.
Below is the press release from the Nashville Predators and afterwards are my thoughts on the reassignment.no comments
It took seven rounds and fourteen shooters in the shootout to decide Thursday night's game between the Nashville Predators and Philadelphia Flyers. Roman Josi's seventh round goal lifted the Predators to a 4-3 victory at Wells Fargo Center.
After a scoreless opening three rounds, the shootout went to sudden death. Brayden Schenn and Matt Cullen traded off goals in the fifth round, while Ryan Ellis kept Nashville in the game following Sean Couturier's goal.
Carter Hutton, who had the best game of the season, made a huge save on Wayne Simmonds, which led to the Josi game-winner. Hutton made twenty-seven saves, including a robbery in the second period on Michael Raffl. (Watch here).no comments
Nashville Predators backup (?) goaltender Carter Hutton made, arguably, the best save of the 2013-14 NHL season on Michael Raffl Thursday night against the Philadelphia Flyers at Wells Fargo Center. Certainly if this save is not number one on ESPN's 'SportsCenter's' Top 10 Plays, then nothing should be. This was filthy, dirty, larceny, any other adjective describing a sweet gloves save would work in this instance. Watch below.
The Nashville Predators (20-21-7) will hit the road again on Thursday to play the Philadelphia Flyers(24-19-4) for the second and final time of the regular season.no comments
In a very out of nowhere move, as Poile is actually quite good at doing, the Predators have dealt newly acquired Matt Hendricks to the winter wonderland of Edmonton in exchange for a narrowly slightly better goaltender than the two back ups we are currently rotating.
In what appears to be a straight swap (IE no conditional picks, no retained salary) the Predators have done away with the bold four year contract that Hendricks signed this summer. Hendricks plays on the fourth line and has just not looked effective anywhere other than the PK where he and Nystrom have been great.no comments
This week saw the Milwaukee Admirals lose a close one to the Chicago Wolves, before hanging on for a victory against the Lake Erie Monsters. Milwaukee's record is now 18-11-5-1 and they sit in sixth place in the conference standings, which would be good enough to make the playoffs if the season ended today.no comments
